| Marwell Wildlife is a charity dedicated to the conservation of wildlife and other natural resources, formerly known as the Marwell Preservation Trust.
Marwell has over 200 species of animals with one of the biggest collections of hoofed animals in Europe. Marwell’s flagship animal is the scimitar-horned oryx – extinct in the wild but re-introduced to reserves in North Africa.
Carnivores are well represented with Amur tigers and leopards, cheetah, serval, ocelot, bat-eared fox and fossa. Notable exhibits include the World of Lemurs, Into Africa, Tropical World, Encounter Village, Penguin World and Roof of the World – for snow leopard, red panda and takin. Marwell’s many other African animals include white rhino, hippo, warthog and giraffe. Primates range from pygmy marmosets to Siamang gibbons.
